The Festival of the Third Age is the largest event for the elderly in Europe, created on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (1999) on the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. In 2024, it marks the 23rd anniversary of its existence, when it will open the doors of the cultural and congress centre Cankarjev dom free of charge for visitors for three days more preciselly from 30 September to 2 October 2024. From the very beginning, the Festival has been dedicated to active ageing, improving the quality of life of older people and realising solidarity between generations – which is why the entire programme takes place under the slogan We are all one generation!

Na Mestni občini Ljubljana vsako leto z veseljem sodelujemo na Festivalu za tretje življenjsko obdobje. Ponosen sem, da skupaj vedno pripravimo izvrsten program za obiskovalce in da je naš predstavitveni prostor med najbolj priljubljenimi. Naše aktivnosti bomo tudi na podlagi odzivov in predlogov obiskovalcev festivala v prihodnje še nadgrajevali in dopolnjevali.

The largest festival for older persons in Europe, held annually in cooperation with more than 3,000 individuals from various organizations and representatives of society, is inviting you to participate this year!
Co-create the festival, showcase your projects, initiatives and services! There will be presentations in the cultural and artistic programme, in the educational programme, discussions in the professional programme and numerous activities on the exhibition spaces, or you can address the target group as a Sponsor.
